Viking Ship Dragonhead Rubbing Activity

To create a rubbing of your Viking ship design, use the template in our resource or draw your design directly onto a piece of paper. Once you have your design, use glue to trace over the lines and let it dry. This activity requires patience, but once the glue is dry, you can make as many rubbings as you'd like. Charcoal and crayons work well for this activity, but feel free to experiment with other art supplies such as pastels. Happy crafting!

Supplies Needed

  • Pencil

  • White glue

  • Crayon or charcoal

  • Blank paper and cardstock

What to do

Step 1

Print the template and create a design inside the dragonhead outline or create your own dragonhead drawing.

Step 2

Trace your design with glue.

Step 3

Let the glue dry overnight (the glue is dry when it has turned clear).

Step 4

Place a piece of blank paper over the design and gently rub a crayon or piece of charcoal in sweeping strokes, covering the entire design.
